Software Spotlight: Simple Comic 1.4

simplecomic_20070813105620.jpgIf you’ve ever tried to read downloadable comics on your Mac you know it can be a little bit of a pain. There are programs you can buy to make it easier, and you can always unstuff the file, then load it into Previews, but that’s a pain too.

Not anymore. Simple Comic has been released (this is version 1.4) and it works fantastically. Whether you read left to right, or right to left, you’ll be able to enjoy all of your downloaded comics in full screen with just enough options to make it easy to navigate through.

Now, I want to be CRYSTAL CLEAR that I’m very much against illegally downloading modern comics. The guys working their butts off on comics aren’t rock stars or Hollywood moguls (not that it’s ok to steal from them either)…most guys making comics (especially independent comics) aren’t even making a living wage…so don’t steal comics.

Instead, find public domain books you can download…or ever better, check out companies like this one that produce FREE digital comics.
