Software Spotlight: Seashore

screenshot-low.jpgEarlier this week we look at Pixen, an image editor for the Mac that is basically MS Paint on steroids…but I know some of you need a little more power than that, but maybe not as much as GIMP has to offer.

For you, I present Seashore.

From Seashore’s website:

Seashore is an open source image editor for Cocoa. It features gradients, textures and anti-aliasing for both text and brush strokes. It supports multiple layers and alpha channel editing. It is based around the GIMP’s technology and uses the same native file format.

Seashore is an excellent light-weight Photoshop or GIMP alternative for casual users…and it’s open source…so it won’t cost you a dime.
