Apple Expo Paris 2009 is officially cancelled

Well Apple has effectively killed off another trade show. The Apple Expo Paris 2009 event has been cancelled by Reed Exhibitions. The announcement came only a day after Apple announced that it would be pulling out of Macworld Expo in 2010 – and that CEO Steve Jobs would not be giving the Keynote at the 2009 event.

Apple officially removed their presence from the Paris show in 2008, and as a result the entire show has been cancelled for 2009. The reason for this is simply that vendors aren’t buying booths for the trade show.

This is not the first time Apple’s pull-out has killed a trade show. Apple has dropped out of both NAB and Macworld Boston in recent years…and the Boston show could not survive their departure. Many speculate that Macworld Expo will suffer the same fate, despite the fact that IDG World, the organizers of the event, insist that the show will continue into the future.
