Wal-Mart will be the next to carry the iPhone in store

It looks like Wal-Mart will be the next retailer to join in selling iPhones – and just in time for the holiday shopping season to kick into high gear. According to Boy Genius Report it looks like Radio Shack might have been in the running as well, but Wal-Mart could have possibly “swooped” in and stolen their spot.

Wal-Mart is the largest seller of iPods in the world – so its no surprise that they would be getting the iPhone eventually. How they are going to handle the activation process remains to be seen.

If the company is actually carrying the devices you can also expect them to increase the accessories they currently stock to feature more iPhone 3G related merchandise. The chain has been hesitant to carry too many items for the phone since they do not sell it. Still, a small number of accessories have been available since the launch of the original phone in 2007.
