More Carbon Fiber Goodies – This Time, It’s Real

Table of Contents

Let’s count the ways that we’ve talked about carbon fiber, shall we? Most recently, there was the XGear simulated carbon fiber iPad case, and then there was the MacBook case by DRO Concepts, made to turn your laptop into an almost bulletproof computer (literally) for a price. But now, there’s a new case on the block made by DRO Concepts, and this time, you’ll never guess what it’s for. No seriously, guess. I’ll wait.

iLounge has the scoop:

DRO Concepts has unveiled its upcoming Carbon Fiber case for the Apple iPad. Made from 100% real carbon fiber, this sleeve-style case features neoprene inner lining for added scratch and shock protection, a Velcro strap for keeping the iPad securely inside, and a small center notch to help with removal of the device. DRO Concepts’ Carbon Fiber case for the iPad is available for pre-order now and is expected to ship in mid-April for $120.

A carbon fiber iPad case? Well that sounds pretty cool to me. As always though, the big catch here is going to be the price. After all, carbon fiber ain’t cheap. So how much? $119 gets you this shiny monster, and it should be available in mid-April.

So would I buy it? Actually, this one I would buy. See, I love the look of carbon fiber, and at $119 it’s expensive, but not so expensive that I’d have to sell a kidney to get it. Plus there are already competing cases in the same general price range, so it’s not that big of a stretch. Besides, if I bought one, I could pretty much guarantee I’d be the only guy I know with one. That’s cool in itself.

  1. yeah, I too have the carbon fibre fetish. Can’t blame you. One thing you and the article don’t mention is how light carbon fibre is too.
