Lifecard: The World’s Thinnest Power Bank?

thinnest power bank

When it comes to gadgets, the thinner the better – as far as I’m concerned, at least. So, when I heard about what may be the world’s thinnest power bank, I had to take a look.

Called Lifecard, the power bank is made by an Australian company called PlusUs. They’ve got a bunch of other similar products, but Lifecard seems to be the most interesting in terms of size and weight.

Measuring in at 3.5 inches x 0.2 inch x 2.1 inches, Lifecard may indeed by the world’s thinnest power bank. That’s about the size of a credit card!

And, at that size, the power bank only weighs 1.8 ounces.

Pretty amazing in terms of size and weight, right?

But how about power? Will it satisfy our power-hungry iPhones?

The product page gives the following information on charging capacity:

  • iPhone 5S – up to 80%
  • iPhone 6 – up to 65%
  • iPhone 6 Plus – up to 40%

At first glance, that is NOT impressive. Not at all. But remember the premise: the world’s thinnest power bank. Of course it doesn’t pack as much power as other, larger power banks do!

Also, if you think about it, if you leave the house with your phone fully charged in the morning, the charging capacity of Lifecard should be enough to get you through those last hours of the day – if you haven’t had the chance to charge at work.

I use a MiPow 5200L Portable Charging Power Cube, which is brilliant because it’s relatively small and light and it can charge my iPhone 6 Plus maybe 1.5 times. Then again, the iPhone 6 Plus’s battery life is pretty amazing, so I don’t get to use the power cube all that much anymore (I used to when I had the iPhone 5).

Given that, I think that Lifecard would be more practical for users like myself. What do you think?

You can get Lifecard for $64.95.
