I was disappointed by Safari Beta and I'm sure those other 999,999 people weren't too pleased with it as well. The aesthetics were fine, but the speed... I've compared my IE7 and Firefox browser's loading times to this one, and Safari was the slowest... by far.

Then again, when the alpha comes out with new stable new features and such, consumers may become impressed with Safari's evolution... is that what Steve is striving for?

my experience has been way less than stellar...

crashes occur when printing is the biggest issue......Apple is getting lots of error sends from my machine!! I have to launch Firefox to print what WON'T print via Safari.....

My suggestion would be that APPLE get busy sending out updates to fix the errors !!!!!!!!!

well since I saw on the wwdc keynote how many people use IE with windows it doesn't really matter I think! I mean to say that safari 3 beta is quite buggy - but it's new and I thiink the bugs will be fixed...IE is old and probably the same amount of buggy^^ and just to try I downloaded safari for xp (see, I have win xp, too) but I prefer firefox to IE and safari!

and...I believe the 1million downloads in 48h are winversion downloads as well as macversion! so half might be people with mac os x who wanted to try it - by the way donwload numbers don't say if the people who downloaded it really use it...

that's my point of view!
