Well it’s not multi-touch, and it’s not from Apple, but if you want a Touch screen iMac, the guys at Troll Touch have you covered.

The high resolution touch screen technology works with the touch of a finger, gloved hand, or stylus, and Troll Touch has been creating touch products for Macs for years.

Prices are as follows:
20 inch aluminum iMac, 2.0 GHz, touch-enabled: $2299.00
20 inch aluminum iMac, 2.4 GHz, touch-enabled: $2599.00
20 inch touch upgrade, customer supplied iMac: $1099.00

  1. I really don’t see how useful this is. I don’t see people leaning over their desk to touch their monitors. It would be different if you could pick it up and move it (easily)

  2. For Steve: then, how do you explain to have an POS termina on your shopl, based on a PC?

This is awsome, and may be even better if they add -up a POS software (a real one, easy to manage), with a ticket printer, a sticker printer and a barcode reader…. all in one, in a bundle…

  3. I use their cinemas in my studio as image viewers. Saves my paintings, I might get the new ones after I saw the demo on their website.

  4. Do not get anything from them. I had my worst time with that “one man” business. I got a 30″ Apple Cinema Display that stoped working (the touchscreen) 2 month after I got it at a cost of $5000!!!! The touchscreen had an air bubble and the owner didn’t reply any mail after he decided “it was my fault”. The thing is that the “heat” of the screen damaged the low quality touch screen surface. I had 2 iMacs from them as well and they stoped working 4 and 5 months later. I contacted their software provider because I thout it was a driver problem. You can find the manofacturer in the software info. For my surprice they broke relationship with him because Troll Touch never paid, the software company is in England and they sent me new drivers until we found out it was a hardware malfunction. The most important thing… the touch screen will void your computer warranty. They are Apple provider but not service. The owner is Nick Durso.
