The Ice Bucket Challenge has been one of the most talked about topics online in the past days, thanks to celebrities taking their part in promoting awareness for Lou Gehrig’s Disease, also known as ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis).

ALS is “a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. With voluntary muscle action progressively affected, patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed.

While it is not one of the most unknown conditions in America, it does need more support in terms of money and awareness, and the Ice Bucket Challenge is the latest activity that the illness’s advocates have initiated.

The support has been overwhelming with the likes of Justin Timberlake challenging Jimmy Fallon.

On Apple’s part, its two honchos, Tim Cook and Phil Schiller took part as well.

Recognize that man?

How about this? (Kinda hard with all that water…)
