Guys, while I appreciate the fact that this could potentially be resolved with a firmware update - the truth is right now Macbook Pros DON'T support 8GBs of Ram.

If a firmware update is issued and they DO support 8GB of Ram in the future - I will post an article titled Macbook Pros DO support 8GB of Ram, Thanks to Firmware update!" or something to that affect.

As long as they don't actually support 8GBs of Ram - saying they don't support 8GBs of Ram is accurate. HOWEVER - I have made an adjustment and included an update to include that a firmware update is possible in the future.

Potentially this could be resolved with a firmware update, depending on how Apple set up the motherboard.

This isn't really accurate though. No one really knows at this point why the machines aren't recognizing the RAM. Since at some level the hardware recognizes it I think there is still hope. This could easily be a system or firmware level problem that could be fixed in Snow Leopard.
Yourheadline is deceiving since you've taken the article at iFixIt and added your won inaccurate assumptions. I think the article was clear that they thought this support might be coming.
