Apple’s Portable Marketshare still Rising…

It’s a great time to be an Apple user. Leopard is just around the corner, the iPhone is still buzzing the industry, and we’re on the verge of a slew of new iPod-related goodness at the next Apple media event.

On the hardware front, things are looking extremely well too. More people are switching then ever before. In June, one in six notebook computers sold were either Macbooks or Macbook Pros. One in six. That’s amazing.

What’s even more amazing is that in May, Apple’s share of the portable market was 14%. In June it rose to 17%. The numbers for July aren’t out yet, but with the Back-to-School season to fuel July’s numbers, it’s unlikely that there will be a decrease in that share.
