“Golden Age” Macbook Air…yours for only $39,750

Let’s run down a recap of the completely stupid, and ridiculously expensive versions of Apple products. There’s the Gold and Platinum iPhones. There’s the Golden Macbook Pro, which is actually pretty cheap at only $1,500 over the price of a regular Macbook Pro.

Then, of course, there are the absurdly expensive solid gold iPod Shuffle, and even more absurdly priced diamond iPod Shuffle that clocks in at over $40k.

Now, the funny part is that after mentioning that last shuffle, the $39,750 “Golden Age” Macbook Air doesn’t seem nearly as ridiculously priced. This thing has a coating of 24k gold beneath 12,000 Swarovski crystals. Each crystal is applied by hand, of course, and there will only be 20 of these ever made.

Which is probably a good thing – because they are hideous looking.
