Video FLASHBACK: Introducing the iMac G4

The iMac G4 (or “The New iMac” as it was called) has always been my favorite design. I wish the iMac still looked like the G4, I loved everything about that computer. In those days (you know, back in 2002) I couldn’t yet afford a Mac…so I would go into my local CompUSA (before it shut down) and play around on this fantastically designed computer.

  1. Totaly agree. This iMac was a design masterpiece. I wish it would still be available with today’s iMac specs. Imagine how much difficult it would be to go iMac shoping, if you could choose between this and new iMac design. Both are incredible!

  2. I think this iMac was one of the most beautiful Macs Apple has designed. Ever. I bought one to replace a G3 iMac even after the G5 iMac was already out because I loved the design so much (it’s at a spot in the house where it’s used exclusively for web browsing and iTunes media streaming).

I second Primoz.. I would LOVE an iMac in the G4 design but with an Intel Core 2 Duo!!!!! 😀

  3. Yeah! I dont like de frist iMac. And de G5, is only fine. The G4, is really different. I think that only de G4 Cube, have a design so good like this!

  4. This design is good because the display’s height and angles are all adjustable. Other than that, the blob on the bottom takes up quite a bit of space. I complain about the current iMac’s inability to have its height adjusted – its a bit too tall for me.

  5. Totally Love that iMac. Screen adjustability was awesome, esp w/ long hours of computing… hmmmm, makes me want hot rod one into a g5…hmmm. Only thing better is (maybe, possibly) the ModBook tablet 😉
