Posted by: Michael on Dec 5, 2006

UPDATE: We’ve given away all 10 free copies of beaTunes, but you can still download the trial at http://www.beatunes.com/

Thanks to Tagtraum for letting us give away copies of their awesome software!

Tagtraum has released beaTunes version 1.1 and to celebrate they’re giving away 10 free copies to Apple Gazette readers!

From the press release:

tagtraum industries is proud to announce version 1.1 of beaTunes – an iTunes add-on for Mac & Windows, popular especially amongst DJs, athletes and audiophiles.

beaTunes analyzes the color and tempo (BPM) of your songs, intelligently creates playlists of matching songs, corrects your iTunes Music Library (typos, wrong genres, etc.), lets you blog about your playlists, and more.

Whether you need to build a compelling DJ set or workout-playlist for your Nike + iPod, beaTunes can help.

It lets you build better playlists.

Version 1.1 stays true to the original concept – but makes it even better. We have tuned the user interface, improved support for multi-core systems, introduced match rulesets, and completely rewritten the blogging component.

A free 7 day trial copy is available from:

http://www.beatunes.com/

Now all of you can get the 7 day free trial…but the first 10 readers to leave a comment below will get a free copy of beaTunes, no strings attached.

Just leave a comment, including your email so we can get in touch with you, and you’ll receive an email shortly with a confirmation.

Hurry up…these won’t last long!

Got my license, and I’m actually using it on Windows right now. It works great! My only issue is that it’s Java and uses about 150MB of memory while analyzing the BPM of my songs. Although I’m using the Windows version and the Mac one could be different. I still have yet to find out if the Mac version also uses Java or not.
