Silverlight brings Streaming from Microsoft back to Mac

Table of Contents

silverlight.jpgFor those of you that have been looking for an official way to get support for Microsoft streaming media will be happy to know that Silverlight, Microsoft’s new Flash alternative will be doing just that.  Currently the only way to really watch any streaming Microsoft content on a Mac is with either the Flip4Mac plugin or the old, out dated, unsupported Windows Media Player for Mac.

Silverlight, however, is bringing streaming support up to HD 720p to the Mac in both Safari and Firefox.  I don’t know about you, but I’m constantly running into problems watching streaming MS video even with the Flip4Mac plugin, so it will be nice to have that soon be a thing of the past.

You can download Silverlight here.
