Migila announces TVminiHD +

tvmini-hd.png Besides the iPhone and AppleTV, there are some really cool things being announced at Macworld this year…and most of them aren’t getting the press they should be.

Take the TVminiHD+ from Migila. The device lets anyone have CableTV, unencrypted digital cable (ClearQAM) and free-to-air HDTV (ATSC) on their Mac through a simple USB connection.

From the press release:

Charles Kennard, Channel Marketing, Miglia Technology commented: “Miglia’s TVMini HD+ boasts unencrypted digital cable support as well as unique stereo sound for analog TV combined with 10-bit video making it the best performing hybrid TV solution on the market.” Kennard continues, “With hardware designed exclusively for the Mac, TVMini HD+ integrates seamlessly with your computer and brings your TV viewing to a whole new level, there is even a fully featured remote control included to allow access to the TVMini HD+ functions.

Now, traditionally the quality on USB devices of this type has been less than perfect, but Migila has been doing a better than average job with these devices so far. The previous version, the TVMini HD recieved 4 1/2 mice from Macworld…and this new version looks very, very promising.

We hope to get our hands on it to give it a full review in the very near future. The device will be available in Feb.

Now, assuming this device is iPod ready like it’s predecessor…that would mean it would be AppleTV ready as well…and if THAT’S so…then this little device may be a MUST HAVE add-on to your home media.
