Apple releases Security update 2008-005
Apple has released a new security update for client and server users of Mac OS X Tiger and Leopard. This updates includes fixes for over a dozen features in Mac OS X.
The main issue with this update is that it fixes a Quicklook bug where loading a malicious Microsoft Office file could lead to an “arbitrary code execution”. It also fixes a DNS vulnerability that has been well known for a week or so.
Thanks to everyone who sent this in.

“It also fixes a DNS vulnerability that has been well known for a week or so.” - Are you kidding? This issue was well known for months, and BIND (which apple uses) hat fixed it a month ago. In this case I was *really* annoyed about apple’s sloppy security policy, because my Macs were open for so long, while all other OSes were fixed long ago.
