I think you'll find that usa did not invent Penicillin or cars or the telephone... and you did not find the enigma machine either.
Typical that he thought they did though.
Check your history rather than follow Hollywood

The episodes were abridged. A lot of us bitched and moaned about this on iTunes' review system. I think Paramount succumbed to the heat, in this case.

"For the record, PAL (stands for Phase Alternating Line, or more properly Picture’s Always Lousy) is the broadcast standard in most of Europe whereas NTSC (North American Television Standards Committee) is, as its name suggests, the US/Canadian/Mexican standard."

Thats up to you but just dont tell me there better than what the rest of the worlds says is better.

There is a reason no one in europe is rushing out to by HD tvs cos to use the diffrencen is minor and not worth the cash where as in the us NTSC to HD is huge and worth it.

The Star Trek series was on the XBox Marketplace back in December, well before they added it to iTunes. So this isn't because of some new deal with Microsoft, since that deal was finished before the deal with Apple was closed.

That might explain it then Anonymous -

The TOS episodes were kinda screwy - some were the remastered shows, others were the original shows.

If Ent had that problem, and TOS was a mix of shows, maybe they decided to pull them both at the same time and fix them.

I bought one of the Enterprise episodes before they were yanked, and I think that they were sourced from converted PAL DVD masters rather than the original NTSC broadcast masters. The audio is sped up 4%, a tell-tale sign. To the American viewer this manifests as the opening music sounding like Russell Watson's been hitting the helium and Cmdr. Tucker's left nut got removed.

I've been trying to buy a Season Pass to both Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis for 2 months now. Apple says they're looking into the reason why I can't buy the passes. I think the iTunes Store may be going through some growing pains. They offer way more than anyone else right now, so it looks like there's a few badly encoded episodes slipping through the cracks. I had issues w/ improperly encoded BSG and Dresden Files episodes, but in all cases Apple let me download the fixed versions. I guess there's enough issues w/ the Star Trek series, that it warranted pulling them. I hope they add more seasons of TOS and add both TNG & DS9. $48.99 per season is a steal compared to the $109 they charge for the DVD sets.
