Apple launches “iTunes Pass” with Depeche Mode

Hey all of you hardcore “Depeche Mode” fans!

huh?

Ok, no “DM” jokes.

Apple has launched a new program called “iTunes Pass” which will allow customers to pre-pay for a special editions of albums from bands.

Woo hoo.

For $19 Depeche Mode fans can be the first to take the plunge. For you money you’ll get their first new single right now, and a dub remix. Over the next 3 months or so the rest of the album will trickle down to you through iTunes. As a bonus you’ll get exclusive tracks and video exclusives…you know, kind of like iTunes “special edition” expanded albums with videos…but not all at once.

I have to say, I’m not that into this idea…but it probably doesn’t help that I’m not much of a music guy. If it’s your bag – then by all means enjoy it.
