“Spore Origins” out for iPod, coming for iPhone – slightly disappointing

September 4, 2008 by Michael Leave a Comment

At E3 earlier this year Spore Origins was previewed with the idea that online play and transferrable characters from “Origins” to the full version of “Spore” (which is coming out for Mac and PC on Sept. 7th).

With a total lack of connection to the full “Spore” game what you’re really left with is a simplified version of the first level of the full “Spore” release. You can download your friends “Spore Origins” spores from the games official website, but only to your iPod or (presumably) iPhone.

The $4.99 price tag might be a bit much for what feels like a demo level. The iPod version is out now, and the iPhone version is expected later in the week. It’s possible that the iPhone version could have more features or compatibility with the full game, but I don’t think that’s the case.

You can get the iPod version of the game right here.
