According to Mac Rumors, Steve Jobs and Co have a lot to be happy about this holiday season (ya know, except for that whole stock thing). Traffic to the iTunes music store was up 413% compared to last Christmas…the spike in traffic is credited to new iPod owners flocking to the iTunes music store to download content.
The spike was so great, that it caused the iTunes store to be slow, and even cause “error” messages on Monday of this week – leaving some users in a huff.
Overall, analists are looking at this as a good thing for Apple, however, since it shows that demand was even greater than what Apple had expected for the product.
The iPod also topped the Amazon best sellers list for MP3 Players, and according to Hitwise, is beat Microsoft’s Zune.net site 30 to 1 in site visits.
