The iPod Touch is priced at 8GB and 16GB, for $299 and $399.

In addition to those announcements, it was also announced that the iPhone price has dropped to $399. Something sure to infuriate early adopters and make those who waited really, REALLY happy.

The long awaited iTunes Wireless Music store was also announced today. This is coming for both the iPhone and the new iPod Touch. The store is a native application on both devices and will allow you to surf and preview the full iTunes store, then download content directly to your iPod Touch or iPhone. The next time you sync with your PC or Mac, that content will be added to your iTunes Library.

Apple also announced a partnership with Starbucks allowing you to purchase songs that you are listening to in iTunes via the Wi-Fi store.

  1. all very cool stuff… nothing I need to buy though. (which is good I guess)
I am excited about the ringtones and Wi-Fi store.
and I don’t mind paying again to make a song a ringtone, it’s not like I’ll be turning my whole library into ringtones.

  2. I am absolutely INFURIATED by the price drop. To drop the price by 33% after only two months will only serve to tick off the majority of the Apple community. It’s something that I would expect from a lot of companies, but NOT Apple.

  3. Is not fair that the price of the iPhone has been dropped in only two months. I am really, really upset. I love my iPhone but I think it should have had a more affordable price.

  4. Great iPod’s Great Price. So It really turned out that the software we saw 2 months ago is true and it’s working.

  5. Of course the price would fall. Of course Apple would make an iPhone without the phone. The iPod touch seems to kick ass.

I feel a bit sad for the early iPhone adopters who are stuck with expensive phoneplans for quite a few months…

Dear fanboys, I myself included in that category, please, some of you seem to think Steve Jobs is your fuckin’ lovable uncle, only interested in making you hardcore Apple-geeks well. Wake up call: Apple is a BUSINESS, and they will try to pull all the money out of you rear, that they possibly can.

    Ugly, but true. Be informed.

And by the way, boycot Starbucks. They’re one of the ugliest companies around. Read the book No Logo by Naomi Klein, it has the proof.
