In this case millions of dollars is not a HUGE payout considering what Apple has made, and will continue to make off of the iPod. It's only a small percentage. @krye

So you mean to tell me if someone else pulls it off in 20 years I should get a huge payout? Sounds like another patent whore to me. If you can't bring your product to market, then you lose. That's what patents are supposed to be for. To protect your intellectual property until you can bring it to market. If you don't, then it's anyone's game. It's too bad that this guy missed the boat. But I don't think he's entitled to a payout from anyone. He should be paid for his contribution to Apple's legal battle, but not because it is the supposed inventor of the mp3 player. Not for nothing, but Apple didn't come out with the first mp3 player, then just came out with the first one that was a real hit.
