The UK is sold out of iPhones

Posted by: Michael on May 8, 2008

O2 post a message on their website this morning that you can see above the text here – the first generation iPhone is no longer available for purchase in the UK.

Obviously, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to draw certain conclusions from this, and its relation to the upcoming 2nd generation iPhone release.

If you’re thinking of buying an iPhone – now is not the time. Wait until June…big things are coming.

I wondered why they were taking down the iPhone display and posters in my local O2 store this morning.

IM CONTENT WITH MY 16 FOR NOW, BUT IS JUNE JUST THE ANNOUNCEMENT DATE? OR WILL IT BE ANOTHER 6 MONTHS AFTER THAT UNTIL THE 3G ROLLS OUT?

@Kevin

Lots of speculation about that, but most people (including me) think that it will be announced and released sometime in June.

I called O2 on 202 this morning to buy a new screen for my 8mb iphone and was told that they were no longer going to be selling iphones as the O2 contract with Apple was being terminated, is this correct?
