Nokia openly copies the iPhone

Today, Nokia held a special event of their own, revealing their new lines of phones. One of the phones, which you can see in the video below – bares a STRIKING resemblance to the iPhone.

When asked about the fact that this upcoming phone looks almost exactly like Apple’s iPhone, a Nokia Exec. responded, “If there is something good in the world then we copy with pride.”

It will be interesting to see if, and how, Apple responds.

  1. At least they had the balls to come out and say that they copied it!

Kudos to Nokia for that at least – but bad karma to them for jumping on the bandwagon.

I will be surprised if this model reaches market.

  2. so what if they copied it? everyone copies everyone nowadays. hell, if they manage to make an iphone that isn’t locked to one carrier, doesn’t come ridiculously expensive, and maybe even outdoes its counterpart feature-wise, then i’m sold.

  3. as engadget pointed out a bit earlier today, the form factor is merely a prototype to demo a new touchscreen-centered version of the series 60 symbian os. link here.

    bummer.

  4. Let them copy it. It’s just like the Zune….if you buy one it’s kinda like settling for your girlfriend’s ugly-ass sister. It may be cool to have one, but at some point you’re going to be seen in public with it, and people will be giggling at you behind your back.

Maybe they’ll release one in the color BROWN.
