I don’t think it’s anyone’s business. Some people think if you make more than a dollar over cost (exaggeration) you're ripping off the public. I say those people have never been in business for themselves. I bought 50 genuine iPod headphones at wholesale for $4 each and sold them on eBay for $10 each. Yeh, I made a killing. Rip off? No way, I call 60% profit a very successful business venture. Apple can charge whatever they want for their products. If you can't afford them, then don't complain. I don't own a BMW because I can't afford one. I'd love to have one, but I'm not going to complain about how much they cost. Apple sells top-of-the-line, cutting edge, state-of-the-art products.
