A Canadian company called Comwave Telecoom Inc, is claiming trademark rights to the name “iPhone”. In Canada, at least. This is yet another roadblock for potential Canadian iPhone owners.

The company has filed a complaint against Apple with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office over Apple’s attempt to obtain the trademark in Canada.

With this news, plus the lack of unlimited data rates in Canada – it’s looking more and more like Canadian Apple fans should just get an iPod Touch and stay the heck away from the iPhone.

  1. No one was saying Apple shouldn’t sell in the U.S. if they don’t, as they didn’t, own the name “iPhone” there.

  2. It would be nice if they would settle all this crap. I don’t want a damned iPod Touch, I want my full fledged iPhone!
