Australia is gagging for the iPhone.

Latest rumours flying around here (I work for the biggest telco in Australia) are that Australia’s first version of the iPhone will be that 2nd gen 3G iPhone, and it’s looking around mid year.

And the convincing factor is that AT&T’s HSDPA network and our Telco’s HSDPA network both operate on 850mHz. Score for Australia. Hopefully we’ll get it at the same time the US does.

hate to nitpick on small things like this michael, but it’s called a “3G” phone, not G3 – it doesn’t mean there’s a G3 processor in it!
