  1. I was planning to get the iPhone…until Rogers released their rates. I’d been waiting for a year for the iPhone to come to Canada, but after this Rogers debacle, I’ve given up. My contract with my current carrier was going to be up in September, so I was going to switch. As it stands now, I renewed with my current carrier for another 3 years for a heavily discounted monthly rate and got a Motorola Krzr. I can only hope that, at the end of another 3 years, the iPhone will be that much better, and iPhone rates here in Canada will actually make sense.

  2. Thanks for covering the Rogers/iPhone mess here in Canada. I hope that others will resist buying an iPhone on friday.

  3. Thanks for the show. But where I live in Canada it doeen’t matter what carrier you go with, (Telus, Rodgers, Fido, Sasktel), we get hosed. They all have crappy plans. For example with the Crown phone company you get 150 minutes for $20, anything over 150 minutes you pay $0.30/min. Data plans are even worse. For a $25 plan you get 5MB and it is $6/extra MB. The Crown phone company is the only carrier you can use if you want decent coverage throughout the province. So we have to make a choice – boring phones, crappy plans & monopolized service with good coverage or cooler phones, crappy plans and crappy coverage. Some might think it is an easy choice but when you get tired of getting hosed who do you choose?
