30 Days of iPhone – Day 10

30daysofiphone.jpg

This thing has officially become part of my left arm. I’m getting so used to using it, I’ve noticed that I don’ use my Macbook Pro as much as I used to…and that’s a good thing.

I used to keep my Macbook Pro powered up almost 24/7. Why? Mainly so I could check my email and keep my messenger application open to talk with my co-workers. I don’t have to do that anymore.

Now, I can let the Macbook Pro rest and get my email through the iPhone, and my IMing done through https://iphone.beejive.com.

I haven’t had any real problems with scratches yet, but it is a concern. So I contacted the guys at Invisible Shield to see if I could take a look at their screen protectors for the iPhone. I’ve heard good things about Invisible Shield, so I thought they might make a nice addition to the “30 Days” review.

They sent over some of their iPhone screen protectors a few days ago, and I have to say, thus far, I am impressed. They are incredibly durable. I actually messed up installing the screen the first time, and got finger prints all over it, but the screen seems very hard to damage.

We’ll see how it works out over the next 20 days of this ongoing review.

  1. Yea, I put one of those shields on my iPod before I even powered it for the first time. They are really nice and protect against scratches. Only problem I find with them is the sheen they give off makes the screen sometimes hard to see during daylight, it also loses the “crystal clear” quality of the screen, but I wouldn’t use my iPod without it.

One thing I was curious is how the touchscreen works it with it. Is it flawless? or is it less sensitive now?

  2. I had a case for my iPhone I bought the 1st day. I have found this thing to be so freakin’ durable however, after watching all the tests with the keys and the knives, etc – that I took a key to it and tried to scratch it myself…
anyway, long and short is I now keep it in the velveteen case that came with my iPod video (which DOES sit in a hard shell case) and I do not intent to mar the beauty of the iPhone with any cases nor overpriced “Invisi Shields” which are simply overpriced sheets of 3M protective stuff, that can be had for $2 a foot, enough to cover 3 iPhones……
