My iPad is one heck of a gaming machine, and that’s all I basically use it for. If you’re like me, then you probably have the usual gaming suspects that are always installed. You may not always play these games, but you’ll keep coming back to them at some point. Then there are those games that you sometimes uninstall – in all likelihood due to lack of space – but again, at some point, you’ll reinstall them.

However, the chances are that you’re always on the lookout for a new awesome game to come along and sweep you off your feet. With mobile gaming being so popular these days, game developers are constantly in creative mode, making sure that gaming addicts enthusiasts are always satisfied.

Let me help you along, so you don’t have to do the dirty work. Here are five new iOS games in 2014 that you’ll want to install.

Assassin’s Creed Pirates

Developed by Ubisoft, you can only expect Assassin’s Creed Pirates to blow you away – sometimes literally, because you’re on a pirate ship attacking other ships and being attacked. There is a storyline, wherein you have missions to choose from, which are not mandatory except for the main one. You’ll easily get hooked on attacking other ships to upgrade your own, though. The game is $4.99 and totally worth it.

Trial Xtreme 3

Trial Xtreme 3 is the new game for you if you like racing bikes. With 137 original courses, racing your friends, avoiding pitfalls in the course (think mines, pipes, and that sort of stuff), all the while making sure you make record times. Yeah, adrenaline rush. It’s free, with the usual in-app purchases. Get it here.

Battleheart Legacy

Sky Force 2014

Ten years ago, the original Sky Force captured the hearts of gamers the world over. Now, SkyForce 2014 brings back memories and creates new ones in your iOS device. Stunning 3D graphics and blasting all over the place. And, it’s FREE. What else can you ask for?

Worms 3

When Worms was first released in 1995, those gross, wriggly creatures suddenly took on a different vibe. For the first time, worms weren’t actually creepy. Almost two decades later, Worms keeps going, and with Worms 3 being recently released, one can keep on playing with new challenges and themes. For $1.99, Worms 3 is a pretty good buy. And in case you haven’t followed the game series, there are previous releases that will give you a good time as well.

These are only a handful of new iOS games in 2014 that will keep your gaming appetite satisfied, but with these five, you’re sure to be busy for quite some time.
