The iWatch Concept You’ll Want to Wear

iWatch concept
We’ve seen iWatch concepts left and right ever since the idea that Apple would come out with a smartwatch was seeded, but let’s be honest, with Jony Ive in there, we’ll still probably be surprised at the final product.

That being said, here’s an iWatch concept that you will wear. Move aside, Pebble Steel, this iWatch concept by Todd Hamilton will give you a run for your money. Even though it may never become reality.

He says he was somehow inspired by another concept by Thomas Bogner, but that he wanted to create one that would actually work in real life:

I wanted to retain a slim form factor like the Fuelband and incorporate familiar UI components from iOS 7. It needed to feel natural on the wrist and look like something Apple would actually produce.

That’s what design is, after all!

So, with some free time on his hands, Hamilton started out with this sketch.

He paid particular attention to details – from a home button on the side to two volume buttons on the other side. Following iOS 7 patterns, he assigned the following actions:

  • tap to use Siri
  • swipe up to unlock
  • pull down to view notifications.

That’s not all! He even went as far as to simulate making calls, which is something we want to actually do with a smartwatch. (Okay, maybe not all of us.)

Of course, it wouldn’t be complete without fitness tracker functionalities. We can’t forget about all the fitness freaks enthusiasts! Here’s what that interface could look like.

Pretty cool, don’t you think? I wonder what the Apple design team thinks of this iWatch concept. What do you think?
