.Mac Update Tomorrow – As Close to Proof as you’re ever going to get

If you’re a .Mac member, you may have noticed that there is a little message right above the System status box on your .mac main page. It reads:

Due to scheduled maintenance, .Mac members might be intermittently unable to access some .Mac services from 10 AM to 12 PM PDT on 08/07/2007. We apologize for any inconvenience.

That happens to be the EXACT same time as the Townhall Meeting tomorrow. Jobs also went on record at the D Conference this year stating that Apple was going to “make up for lost time in the near future” in regards to .Mac.

While this doesn’t give us 100% proof that we’re going to be getting an update to .Mac – I believe it’s as close as we’ll ever get to confirmation from Apple on the subject. It would be an AMAZING coincidence if these times aren’t related.

  1. I hope this brings a significant speed improvement. That’s the only issue I have with .mac. My webpages always load soooo slooooow!!

  2. Hopefully its something that makes the outrageous cost more reasonable. I love the features of syncing my macs together, but I’m not dishing out over 100 a year to do it.
