One thing that I’ve seen some complaints about online, particularly in the G4 Interview, relate to the AppleTV’s video streaming. I’ve seen complaints that it really doesn’t do a very good job, but I have to say, mine is working perfectly. In fact, I don’t think it could work any better than it does. Now, let me explain my set up a little first, and then you guys can tell me in the comments if I’m an idiot or not, but I’m using a Netgear cheap-o 801.11g router that I bought at Best Buy about a year ago. It was the cheapest one they had, and I was on a budget at the time, so I got it. It is in the same room as the AppleTV, and I’m streaming from my Macbook Pro.
It takes 10 to 20 seconds tops for a streaming show to load, and I haven’t noticed any lag what-so-ever while the program is running.
Now, I’m sure it’s different if everything is set up on the other side of the house, but for me, this is working great.
Are you having any streaming problems? If so — what’s your set up?
