The fact that it gets hot actually means that it's radiating heat way from the sensitive electronics that could be harmed by the heat. There are apparently video podcasts in the works specifically for AppleTV. Can't wait. I watch about an hour of AppleTV every night and a few minutes here and there during the day. This is all iTunes content (and a few videos converted with QT/VisualHub). I'm actually not able to catch up to all my video podcasts, so I can afford to be selective about which ones I watch. I don't remember seeing one when I looked at the Apple TV. In addition the harddrive is mounted on the top of the device so when you touch it, its as if your touching the harddrive. I agree its stupid but MacBook's get disturbingly hot aswell. However my iMac doesn't ever get really hot, lucky me :) Is there even a vent for the heat to escape?
