30 Days of iPhone – Day 6

Does it say something about a device when it is easy enough for a 4 year old to use? I think it does. My daughter has been interested in the iPhone since the day I came home with it, and I have let her press a few buttons on it over the course of the […]

OT: New Personal Blog and Twitter

Just a quick note for the few of you that might be interested… I have started a new personal blog entitled Blog Writer Person. I decided to go to the trouble of registering a domain this time, in hopes that it will keep me actually updating the thing. If you’re curious about the chicken running […]

Get the Jericho Pilot FREE in iTunes

You might have heard about this little show called Jericho. If you haven’t let me give you an idea of what happened. The show got cancelled. Fans got angry. Fans sent thousands of canned nuts to CBS. CBS uncancelled the show. This week my buddy Drew over at TV Jab reminded me and everyone else […]

30 Days of iPhone – Day 5

So, the iPhone is starting to feel normal. Does that make sense? It’s already making the transition from being this super cool gadget that I love, to being this computer I keep in my pocket. Yesterday my wife was driving and I was sitting in the passenger seat. A reader had emailed me a question […]

Reader Feedback Request: Podcasting Help

So, I’m officially “out of my mind” frustrated with trying to do the simple process of recording a podcast. This has turned into a complete and total nightmare of one problem after another, and I can’t even begin to figure out what is wrong or how to fix it. It started with the mic not […]

Widget Watch: Easy Envelopes

While searching through the Apple.com downloads section looking for something interesting to post about, I stumble upon this really cool and useful widget. It’s called EasyEnvelopes, and it does exactly what you would think a widget called that would do. It makes making Envelopes easy. With a simple Address Book search, you have your letter […]

30 Days of iPhone – Day 4

So guess what I did last night? I manually deleted 1,300 emails off my iPhone. That was ultimately the only way to get rid of them. I tried to go into Gmail settings and stop them from downloading, but Gmail doesn’t treat the iPhone like it’s a POP3 email client. Emails still appear in my […]

OSX Quicktip: Search Photoshop Layers via Spotlight

If you’re a Photoshop user this is a pretty handy trick. If you have files saved in PSD format, and your text layers are still text (i.e. you haven’t rasterized them yet) then you can actually search for them in Spotlight, to help you find the right file. Pretty slick, huh?

Reader Feedback Request: Apple Gazette Reader Survey

Hey guys…wanna help me out? I need to know a little more about you guys. What you think about the site, and your demographic information? Why? Because I want to have good advertising on the site. We have Google Ads now, which are great, but I would like to be able to show you Apps […]

No Apple Gazette Daily AGAIN – Might be Garage Band….

So I recorded Apple Gazette Daily today with no mic…just using the built-in mic on my Macbook Pro. It sounded good enough, and I thought everything was ready to go…it even exported as a m4a file…but that file will not play, import into iTunes or…ya know…work at all. I think the problem may be Garage […]
