AppleTV DELAYED until Mid-March

Apple announced today that it would be delaying the release of the AppleTV until Mid-march according to Marketwatch.
“Wrapping up Apple TV is taking a few weeks longer than we projected, and we now expect to begin shipments mid-March,” spokeswoman Lynn Fox said by email.

Apple and others sued over MP3 patent

Apple Insider is reporting that Apple, Samsung, Sandisk are all being sued by a little known Texas firm over a MP3 related Patent:

This Mac was SHOT…and it still works! According to the uploader of the pic the Macbook was in a bag, and a robber fired a shot that hit the bag. Interesting stuff.

Apple “Hello” commercial airs during the Oscars

Apple’s iPhone teaser commercial just aired.
It featured a variety of scenes from movies and television ranging from Lucelle Ball to Mr. Incredible saying “hello” while answering a phone. Then a shot of the iPhone with
“Hello” followed by “Coming in June” text shots.

“Display Eater” to go Open Source after failed “scare campaign”

I first heard about this “Display Eater” application on Boing Boing. The short version of the story is that it appeared that if you attempted to pirate the software, it would delete your “home” file on your Mac…essentially destroying your computer.
